What it handles
After-hours answering service for surgeons, with on-call routing
It is the same assistant we build for dental practices, set up for the way surgical and cosmetic practices work: longer consultations, post-operative patients and on-call rotas.
Out-of-hours consultation booking
Takes the caller's details and the procedure they are asking about, answers approved questions and books a consultation, including evening and weekend enquiries to cosmetic clinics.
After hours and overflow
Nights, weekends and the moments when every line is busy, so new enquiries aren't lost to voicemail.
Post-op calls routed to on-call
Post-operative patient calls are routed to the on-call clinician or flagged as urgent, following your protocol. It never gives medical advice.
Appointment changes
Reschedules and cancellations handled with your rules on notice periods and deposits.
Call summaries
A short written summary of each call for your team, with anything urgent clearly marked.
Multiple surgeons or locations
Different greetings, calendars and on-call numbers for each location or clinician.
Compliance
Built around patient safety and privacy
Medical call handling for clinics in the UK and practices in the US runs under different privacy rules, so we agree the ones that apply to you before set-up.
Emergencies
Callers describing a medical emergency are told to call 911 or 999 and the call is flagged to your team. The assistant never diagnoses or advises.
United States: HIPAA
Patient information shared with a vendor needs a signed Business Associate Agreement. We confirm in writing how data is handled before set-up.
United Kingdom: UK GDPR
Health data is special category data, so a data processing agreement and a lawful basis are agreed before any patient data is processed.
Recording and consent
Recording is announced whenever it is on, and no outbound AI calls are made to patients without the consent US law requires.
More on data handling: security & compliance.
Can an answering service handle calls from post-operative patients?
Yes. Ours answers them and follows your protocol, usually an immediate transfer to the on-call clinician or an urgent flag. It does not give medical advice.
Can we keep our human answering service?
Yes. Many practices run AI answering alongside a human answering service: the assistant takes out-of-hours and overflow calls, and people handle the rest.
Which booking systems does it connect to?
We only name systems we have connected and tested. Tell us what you use and we will confirm on the demo call whether bookings go straight in or into a calendar your team confirms.
How is it priced?
It depends on call volume, opening hours and the number of locations or clinicians. The pricing page explains the factors, and we send a written quote after the demo call.
